Senior Project Manager – UN-PIIF Joint SDG Fund

About the role

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead programme management for the UN‑PIIF Joint SDG Fund project. The consultant will work closely with the Resident Coordinator Office in Samoa and the PIIF Secretariat to ensure effective coordination and delivery of project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a baseline capacity assessment of the 21 PIIF member funds and the PIIF Secretariat, delivering methodological reports and actionable recommendations.
• Prepare the inception report and consolidated annual/quarterly workplans aligned with the Project Document deliverables.
• Operationalise project‑level monitoring, produce periodic progress reports and ensure results‑based tracking against the ProDoc framework.
• Establish and maintain a budget execution monitoring mechanism, risk register and mitigation log.
• Facilitate coordination mechanisms with the PIIF Secretariat and UN partners, organising regular meetings and technical consultations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sustainable finance, project coordination and stakeholder engagement within UN or multilateral environments.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior ESCAP officials and coordinate with the UN Resident Coordinator in Samoa.
• Strong analytical skills to produce capacity assessments, risk analyses and monitoring frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills for regular reporting to ESCAP, RCO Samoa and PIIF stakeholders.
