Project Manager – Core Banking System Implementation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end implementation of a new Core Banking System for the National Bank of Samoa. Reporting to the CTO and working with the CEO as Programme Sponsor, you will drive a high‑stakes transformation from requirements through to post‑go‑live stabilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain project governance, planning, budget control and reporting to the Steering Committee and Board.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate stakeholders across Retail, Lending, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Compliance and IT.
• Oversee data migration, system integration and testing phases (SIT, UAT, performance, security).
• Ensure compliance with risk, security and regulatory standards such as PCI‑DSS, ISO 27001 and Central Bank requirements.
• Lead change management, training activities and transition to business‑as‑usual operations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of project management experience, including 3–5 years leading Core Banking System implementations or major banking technology transformations.
• Hands‑on experience with leading CBS platforms and strong understanding of banking operations and products.
• Proven delivery of data migration, integration and UAT in a regulated banking environment.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification (required).
• Ability to work under pressure with sharp attention to detail and a collaborative, results‑focused approach.
