About the role
Pacific Forum Line (PFL) is seeking a proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join its team in Samoa. Reporting to the Country Manager and the Group EHS Manager, you will act as the trusted subject‑matter expert, guiding managers, supervisors and staff to embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Partner with operational leaders to identify, assess and control workplace risks.
- Monitor compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, regulations and internal standards.
- Lead workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety reviews.
- Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Develop, deliver and coordinate EHS training programmes, inductions, toolbox talks and refresher sessions.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation planning and drills.
- Track and report EHS performance metrics, trends and key performance indicators.
- Maintain EHS documentation, hazard registers, training records and compliance reports.
- Assist with injury management, rehabilitation, fitness‑for‑work and return‑to‑work processes.
- Promote Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles and positive safety behaviours.
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an EHS professional, preferably within a logistics or transport environment.
- Ability to provide practical advice, coaching and leadership to diverse operational teams.
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks and monitor performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills for training delivery and stakeholder engagement.
