Infield Mentor – Missionary Training (Remote)

About the role

The Infield Mentor supports missionaries in their effort to invite others to Christ by delivering gospel instruction, language training, and skill development. This remote position works within the Church’s Training department, delivering curriculum‑based lessons and coaching across multiple formats.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the trainer or supervisor in the Training department.
• Provide one‑on‑one coaching, small‑group facilitation, large‑group workshops, and monitor Canvas participation and discussion boards.
• Plan and prepare lessons using the approved curriculum, often in partnership with a companion teacher.
• Implement guidance from Teacher Trainers, Managers of Training, and Senior Managers of Training.
• Attend weekly training meetings and co‑teacher sessions.
• Assist area leadership in coordinating with mission and Missionary Department leadership.
• Coach missionaries before and during practice and live lessons.
• Assess language proficiency of missionaries and teacher applicants when needed.
• Role‑play as a non‑member for training scenarios and support temporary duties at the Missionary Training Center.

Required profile

• Returned missionary status.
• Fluency in the specified second language (for language‑teaching positions).
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Strong knowledge of the “Preach My Gospel” curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• Self‑motivated, collaborative, and open to feedback.
• Understanding of effective language‑learning strategies (for language‑teaching positions).
• Strong communication and organizational capabilities.

Required skills
