Skills Adviser – Curriculum Development & Design (Samoa)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Skills Adviser for Curriculum Development & Design to join our team in Apia, Samoa. The adviser will provide technical input to the Pacific Australia Skills programme, supporting the implementation of the Samoa country plan, budget, strategies, communications and partnership development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the implementation of skills system reforms and strengthening activities identified in the Samoa workplan and budget, in collaboration with the Systems Strengthening Manager.
• Partner with the Partnership and Coalition Manager to establish national and regional engagements and work with stakeholders on skills system reforms.
• Coordinate with the MEL Country Coordinator to ensure robust planning and reporting mechanisms for monitoring the workplan.
• Work with the GEDSI Country Coordinator to embed gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion in education and training programmes.
• Provide technical input for early deliverables such as strategic communications, branding, change‑management plans and country planning processes.
• Develop and implement change‑management and communication approaches together with the Communications and Event Coordinator.
• Undertake other tasks required to support the smooth establishment of Pacific Australia Skills in Samoa.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Education, social sciences, international development or a related field.
• Recent experience leading initiatives in the skills and training sector in Samoa or the broader Pacific region.
