Maintenance Coordinator – Apia, Samoa

About the role

This full‑time position is based in Apia, Samoa and supports the Pacific Australia Skills programme. The Maintenance Coordinator will ensure that training facilities, equipment and assets are well maintained, safe and ready for use.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate all maintenance and repair activities for facilities, equipment and assets.
• Develop and maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Receive, prioritise and assign maintenance requests to external contractors based on urgency and safety.
• Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure work is completed on time, safely and to a high standard.
• Oversee grounds‑maintenance tasks such as landscaping, waste management and outdoor upkeep.
• Assist with procurement of goods and services, ensuring value for money.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, tools, work orders and service reports.
• Conduct quarterly stocktakes and update the asset‑management system with new items.
• Ensure all equipment is safe, tagging out any items that require repair or disposal.
• Uphold Workplace Health & Safety standards for staff, students, visitors and contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating maintenance activities, preferably in an educational or training environment.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors, staff and suppliers.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Required skills

• Ability to develop and maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Experience with asset‑management or inventory‑tracking systems.
• Basic procurement knowledge to source goods and services.
