About the role
The Office Driver provides safe and reliable transportation for staff, visitors and officials of the FAO Subregional Office for the Pacific Islands. The role includes driving, vehicle upkeep and supporting basic administrative tasks within the office.
Key responsibilities
- Drive office personnel, high‑ranking officials and guests on official trips, adhering to road‑safety rules and UN security guidelines.
- Receive visitors at the airport, assist with immigration, customs, hotel check‑in and other local formalities.
- Log official trips, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle‑related expenses; maintain accurate records.
- Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, tires), minor repairs and arrange servicing to keep the vehicle safe and operational.
- Handle accident procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational and local regulations.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents and parcels between the office, post office, airport, government agencies and project sites.
- Support procurement, finance and HR tasks, answer phones, file documents and perform basic clerical duties.
- Carry out routine checks of air‑conditioning filters and generator diesel levels.
Required profile
- High school diploma.
- At least three years of professional driving experience.
- Good knowledge of local traffic regulations and UN security guidelines.
- Ability to interact courteously with national and international visitors.
Required skills
- Vehicle operation.
- Vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
