About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Apia is looking for a Data Specialist to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. The role will design, develop and manage databases, data collection systems and analytics to improve statistical efficiency and quality across the Resident Coordinator System.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems and data analytics that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
- Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns using statistical methods on structured and unstructured data sources.
- Design and deliver analysis, reporting and quality‑control capabilities, and locate new data‑analysis process improvement opportunities.
- Create reports, dashboards or other tools to summarise findings and convey information to management.
- Document requirements and collaborate with internal units, UN funds, programmes, specialised agencies, consultants and NGOs.
Required profile
- Proven experience in data analysis, database development and statistical reporting.
- Ability to work with internal UN units and external partners such as UN agencies, NGOs and consultants.
- Strong analytical mindset with capacity to interpret complex data sets.
